Hospitality Industry Training
Coming in Spring 2024, Edmundite Missions and St. James Hotel will soon be offering a partnership program to raise awareness of and provide training in hospitality careers.
The hospitality and tourism industry in and around Selma is growing, driven in part by the creation of the Civil Rights Trail, and the iconic role of Selma in that struggle, and in part by the eco-tourism associated with the Alabama river and hunting and fishing in the area.
With support from PNC Bank and the Catholic Sisters Initiative of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Missions Center for Workforce Development created a hospitality and tourism industry career program. The Center for Workforce Development recruits and screens candidates and provides the soft skills training and social services support that will ensure success on the job.
